How To Donate To Catholic Charities

We deeply appreciate your generous contributions to continue the work of our various ministries, and to develop new and expanding programs for people and parts of the Dicoese not currently being served.

Our needs and those of the Diocese continue to grow. Here are some ways in which you can support us:

Cash donations

To make a donation to Catholic Charities for the purpose of supporting, improving and/or expanding services, or to establish new ministries to underserved people and places around the Diocese, please send your check to Catholic Charities of Southern Illinois at the address below or email us to make arrangements.

Agency-specific donations

If you would like your gift to go to one or more specific Charities ministries, you may send your gift to Catholic Charities with an explanation of what the gift is to be used for. Your wishes will be followed.

You also may contact any agency directly to make a gift. See the complete list of our agencies.

Charitable gift annuities

A charitable annuity is a gift that provides lifetime income to an individual/couple. The gift remainder will come to Catholic Charities after the donor's lifetime.

A gift annuity has many advantages for the donor

  • You receive income for life.
  • Your annunity rate is fixed for life, and is based on your age. Often this rate is higher than rates on CDs, bank accounts and other fixed income securties.
  • You receive a tax deduction in the year the gift is funded.
  • Gifts of cash, securities and non-mortgaged real estate are acceptable.
  • Capital gains taxes can be minimized if highly appreciated secrities are used to fund the gift.
  • You may direct your gift to one or more of our agencies if you wish.
  • You have the satisfaction of supporting the Church after your lifetime.
